About the E3card Reader

E3card Reader is a personal mass-storage security assistant. It works as a multi-function SD card reader for users. It’s your own file security expert. In basic mode, a normal SD card once accessed by the E3card reader will not recognize by normal PCs or other normal card readers. For meeting various requirements coming from different kinds of customers, lots of encryption algorithm will be released and all of them are easy to download from our official website. In general, from preschooler to senior, if you have digital security requirement, the E3 would be the best choice.

Our products are easy to upgrade. Even for children (DO NOT let children under 6-years-older use this product, as they could accidentally eat the card reader and/or the SD cards) they just need to copy a file into a removable driver which named E3Upgrader by a simply Drag-and-Drop access, and then everything is done.

Drag-and-Drop is a well accepted standard used by most of the desktop-based operation-system such as Windows, Mac OS (coming from Apple) and lots of Linux system. No dedicated application need to download, No complex access need to learn, and No differences among different environments, to accomplish these objects, using the Drag-and-Drop upgrading mode seems to be the only way for us to make a very friendly tools for our precious customers.

How To Enable the Basic MMC/SD Protection Mode

1. Plug the E3card Reader in your PC USB port and wait for the removable driver E3Upgrader

2. Copy the ResetToKernel.bin to the E3Upgrader and the E3Upgrader will dispear.

3. Wait for a removable driver Kernel appear, and copy the Encrypt.bin to this driver. Dettach the E3card Reader and re-plug it into your PC. You will see the E3 4M STICK, E3Upgrader and the SD Driver again. This means, the MMC/SD card encryption mode is enabled successful.

4. For the usage of the MMC/SD card Encryption Mode, please refer to the user manual.

The E3card Reader is a multi-functional platform. In basic mode, the E3card Reader can work as a SD card reader and keeps all the files stored in the SD cards not be seen by others. With the applications coming from licensed third-party, the E3card reader could do more things than you can image.

Q3: Could I use the E3card Reader on my MacBook? Why I always see an error dialog popped up when I pull the E3card Reader out directly but everything seems OK?
Yes, of cause. You can use the E3card Reader on your apple laptop. For the reason why you always see an error dialog, please note that, Mac OS want every user detach their removable USB devices before pull them out directly. If you follow this rule, you will never see the error dialog again.

Q4: How to upgrade an E3card Reader? Do I need a TF card?
First, you need download a desired FW from our official website; plug your E3 card reader into your PC (USB interface), wait for a removable driver named as E3Upgrader in the disk explorer, then copy the FW to the E3Upgrader. Normally, these are the only things you need to do. Wait the blue LED on and the red LED off. Then the upgrade is complete. You DO NOT NEED any TF card.

Q5: What dose the internal 4M memory stick do? Is it too small?
Yes, the internal 4M memory stick looks small, but it’s big enough to store some security license and your personal digital-signature file.

Q6: How could I know my E3card Reader is not a fake shit?
First, every E3card reader contains a global unique ID which could be found in the product label. Enter the ID to the verify text box in our website, soon you will get the result.
Second, for some special security purpose, we have a very special way to identify your E3card Reader: Download the FW called Authentication.bin from the download page, copy to the E3Upgrader driver, Wait for while (typically 1~2 seconds), copy a file Auth.bin from the E3Upgrader, and then upload this file to our website, click the “Authentication” button, then you can get the result.
